Jonathan Braden, Chairman
Downtown Development Authority
As Acworth celebrates it 150th anniversary, the nine member Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is preparing to undertake a comprehensive survey project of all business and property owners in the DDA district to identify what the members of the district feel are the most important issues facing them presently and in the future. The mission of the DDA is to help facilitate the Downtown's economic development, while preserving and promoting its heritage.
Acworth is blessed with great shops, restaurants, wonderful professionals and a diverse economy. Within a ½ mile of the heart of downtown you can find doctors, lawyers, accountants, architects, chiropractors, general contractors, bankers, financial planers, insurance agents, custom millworkers, day spas, yoga & pilates classes, art galleries, florists, gift shops, antiques, gun shops, bike shops, hardware, groceries, gasoline, mechanics, body shops, small engine shops, unique wine shops, a pharmacy, over a dozen great restaurants, and a whole lot more.
DDA sponsors incredible events each year including Friday Farmers’ Market, Classic Car Nights, Artists’ Markets, BBQ Contests, July 4th Fireworks, and we will welcome back this year the Mastercraft Pro Wakeboard Tour & Block Party.
If you’ve never visited downtown Acworth – what are you waiting for? If you own a business or property in the DDA district, we look forward to working with you this year, and in the years to come, to help make Acworth the best it can be.
